Inventory of Ewanrigg Hall Maryport 1585

INVENTORY OF EWANRIGG HALL NEAR MARYPORT, CUMBRIA, 1585

This inventory lists the property that Mr. Anthony Thwaytes Esquire owned when he lived at Ewanrig Hall in 1585.  We are fortunate that the property has such detailed valuation and although the pounds can not be compared to current money, the valuation allows us to see how important the items were.  Presumably the most highly valued items are the most important items.

An Inventory of all the goodes and cattell of Mr. Anthony Thwaytes Esquir(e) which he died possessed of prised by these sexe sworne men Christopher Blennerhassett, Gawuen Eaglesfield, Robert Sleddall, Chrietopher Crakeplace (?), Robert Robinson and Richard Smythe tayken at Uneridge the 22nd daye of October Anno Domimi 1585 Elizabeth (the) 27th (year) a foloweth hearafter.
